The holy basil is considered to be
one the best home remedies for common fever. For this once can take
decoction of the leaves of basil. Make a potion using about 12 gm of holy
basil leaves and boil them into ½ liter of water.
Another great home remedy for common
fever is saffron. You can put this into your tea also. Prepare the tea by
putting half a tsp of saffron in 30 ml of boiling water. 1 tsp of this tea
is to be taken by patient every hour.
The tea made up with fenugreek seeds
are said to be good and beneficial in common fevers. This is considered to
be cleansing and soothing drink in common fever. This also dissolves the
mucus accumulated in the chest. This is one of the effective home remedies

Raisin’s extract are another good
home remedy for common fever. To prepare this, one should soak 25 raisins
in ½ cup of water and then crushing them in the same water. Strain the
whole mixture and discard the skin by filtering it. The raisin water thus
prepared becomes a tonic for the body. Add ½ tsp of limejuice in the
extract for powering its efficacy. This is taken two times a day.
The fresh juice of apricots in the
dosage of cupful with a tsp of glucose or honey is simple but effective
homemade remedy for common fever. This will not only help in reducing the
fever but also quenches the thirst and eliminates the harmful products
from the body. This is one of the best home remedies for common fever.
The raw apricots are also beneficial
for the body. They are said to be toning up the stomach, liver, heart,
eyes, nerves and stomach.
The juice of grapefruit is beneficial
in almost all fever. This will also remove the burning sensation from the
body which is produced by fever. For this one can take ½ glass of
grapefruit juice with equal quantity of water. It will help in natural
cure for common fever.
Oranges are considered to be one of
the best home remedy for common fever. This provides energy which is been
lost in the feverish condition. This also increases the output of the
urine and promotes the resistance against the infections.
One should give up the diet which is
heavy to digest. Take light diet including rice flakes, corn flakes etc.
Give up junk food and spicy food.
One has to restrict food made up from
refined flour like bread, pizza etc.
Cold drinks and other simulative
beverages are to be restricted.
Smoking and alcohol is best to be
avoided as it may worsen the case and increase the feverish condition.
One should give up the cold water for
drinking. Boiled and then cooled room temperature water is best to have.
Ayurveda believes that fasting for
couple of days will be best for feverish condition.
According to some experts, the cold
bath is contraindicated. However the sponging with normal water is indeed
beneficial. The cold bath may make you shivering and worsen the case of
fever.
Keep yourself hydrated. Don’t be dry
at all. For this, one has to take plenty of fluids. This will flush off
the temperature which is raised in fever.
Make the tea by putting half a
teaspoon of saffron in 30 ml of boiling water. Give a tsp of this tea made
from the saffron to the patient every hour till the temperature returns to
normal temperature. This is one of the good home remedies for common
fever.
