Home Remedies For Constipation
Constipation is when you have trouble
having bowel movements. Your stools may be very hard, making them so
difficult to pass that you have to strain. Or you may feel like you still
need to have a bowel movement even after you've had
one.
Constipation is caused by improper
dietary habits, eating excessive non vegetarian, fried, fast foods,
insufficient intake of water, indigestion of food products and results in
hard and dry stool
- Ripe bael fruit is
regarded as best of all laxatives. It cleans and tones up the
intestines. It should not be taken at a stretch. It is very effective
home remedy for constipation.
- Drink a glass of
warm milk before going to bed. In case of severe constipation mix two
teaspoons of castor oil in the milk.
- Drinking lemon
juice mixed with warm water two to three times a day eases constipation.
- One or two
teaspoons of aloe gel can be taken twice a day.
- In case of
constipation in children, a suppositary made of the stalk of betel leaf
dipped in castor oil can be introduced in the rectum. This instantly
relieves constipation.
- Try one teaspoon
of corn syrup added to 8oz of water to cure constipation.
- Add a little extra
sugar or some honey to a glass of milk and drink it twice a day. It is
also a good remedy for constipation.
- Soak one date
(seed removed) overnight in half a cup of water. In the morning mash the
date with water and remove the pulp. Take one teaspoon of this water
three or four times a day.
- Soak 50 grams of
cassia pulp in water overnight take with 25 grams of water in the
morning. It is another important home remedy for constipation.
- Drink a solution
of 1/2 tsp honey in 1/2 cup warm water 2-3 times a day to cure
constipation.
- Mix 1/2 cup olive
oil with 1/2 cup orange juice and drink to cure constipation.
- Drink one liter of
warm water and walk around for a few minutes early morning.
- Take 3 tsp of
psyllium husk (Sat Isabgol) in milk or warm water at bed time. It is
also good for constipation relief.
- Add plenty of
fruits, vegetables and salads in your diet. Chew food thoroughly and eat
only when hungry.
- Regular
physical exercise is also important for maintaining proper bowel
movements.
