Home Remedies For Depression
Depression is a mood disorder in which
feelings of loss, anger, sadness, or frustration interfere with
everyday life. Depression affects approximately 17 million Americans
each year.
Depression seems to be related to a
chemical imbalance in the brain that makes it hard for the cells to
communicate with one another. Depression also seems to be genetic
(to run in families). Depression is caused by Sleep disturbances,
Amount of exposure to light, Heredity, Nutritional deficiencies or
Serious medical conditions, such as heart attack or
cancer.
- Boil some seeds of
cardamom in water with tea. It will give a very pleasing aroma to
the tea. It is an effective home remedy for depression.
- Ashwagandha, Brahmi
give relief to the brain. Make a tea from equal proportions of
ashvagandha and brahmi (about 1/3 to 1/2 teaspoon each), steep in
a cup of water for about 10 minutes, and drink 2 or 3 times a day.
It is also good for overcoming depression.
- Lying down, in a
dark room, maybe getting a 1/2 hour of sleep,will always make you
feel better.
- Another domestic
remedy for depression is a tea made of Indian basil (tulsi) and
sage. Use 1/4 teaspoon tulsi and 1/2 teaspoon of sage per cup of
hot water; drink twice a day.
